Mobile Spa of the Month for October 2014
By Maria Koropecky, esthetician
Part of the fun of having a mobile spa is working with spa products and cosmetics that are made with natural ingredients and smell good enough to eat.
Cynthia G. Fletcher has been in private practice for 11 years as a massage practitioner at Inner Balance for Outer Beauty in Turlock, California. She is also a consultant for Pink Papaya and uses their natural products in her practice and in spa parties.
“I have been doing spa parties for 10 years,” said Cynthia, and “pretty much have traveled doing spa parties all over the state.”
When on the road, Cynthia has a team of five consultants that offer product samples to guests during the Pink Papaya Spa Parties. They also help with the paraffin dips. “That frees me up for the other spa treatments,” she said.
Cynthia’s signature treatment is a PUSH chair massage. “In a spa party, I can do a chair massage, and it gently allows someone to experience massage for the first time, and they are hooked!,” said Cynthia.
Cynthia likes to offer affordable services at her spa parties so everyone can enjoy some spa time. “I offer a $15 spa menu that includes chair massage, hand and foot massage, hand paraffin, and foot paraffin. I also offer some free treatments to showcase the products like foot soaks with bubble bath and hand treatments with cranberry/orange hand scrubs,” she said.
“Being able to set my own hours and being able to pamper” is Cynthia’s favorite part of being in business. In the future, she plans on introducing Pink Papaya Spa Parties to “more massage therapists to allow them to expand their practice and earn some extra money on the side, too,” she said.
