Lisa Foresman is the owner of Massage Integration, a mobile massage company that provides massage at our clients’ home, office, types of environments such as salons, high end spas, chiropractic offices, and hospitals.
Lisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I honestly didn’t set out to create a mobile massage business, or know that I would one day be managing massage therapists in multiple cities. But after a couple of important opportunities came my way, it became clear that I needed to seriously considerexploring the on-site massage business model.
While providing on-site chair massage and full body massage for a hotel near Dallas Love Field and onsite massage for employees at three business high rises in Dallas and Las Colinas, I knew I could not do this work on my own. I knew I had to have a team of talented massage therapists who loved this work just as much as I do.
I was very excited to officially establish Massage Integration, LLC in 2008, and go through the learning curves of managing a business. But the company didn’t begin to truly take off until I met Kevin Foresman who has a background in website development and social media joined forces with me in 2011. His partnership took Massage Integration to a whole new level because we now had a very professional website, a well ranked online presence, and we could now work together to manage our staff and operations.”
I can’t tell you how exciting it was to get our first phone call from our new website from a hotel client in Fort Worth. We have since been organically growing our client base in the Dallas, Fort Worth and surrounding cities offering both chair and table massage services to in-home, hotel and corporate clients. It’s been an awesome journey to be a part of a wellness business that helps so many people let go of stress and feel good in their body.
We couldn’t do this without our amazing team of massage therapists, and our wonderful clients who continue to book with us and refer us to their friends and family.
We contract with the best, experienced, licensed and insured massage therapists offering chair massage and table massage services 7 days a week. Some of our popular full body massage services include, Swedish, deep tissue, therapeutic, sports, prenatal, integrated healing and couples massage. We also provide chair massage services for companies of any size and help them to create wellness in the workplace for their staff and employees.
I wouldn’t say it’s been easy, but there has been a good flow overall. Some of the challenges has been getting the word out about our
mobile massage services. Most people who go to spas may not realize that they can get a massage in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
Educating companies that the best way to decrease stress and injury in the office is to offer chair massage onsite for their employees. And of course, finding easier ways to manage the day to day operations and dispatching for a mobile massage business. These are all ongoing challenges of the business as we work on expanding our client base.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Absolutely. There have been moments of pure lucky circumstances such as the time when I was given a brand new massage table and massage chair because it had been sitting in a hotel luggage closet for over a year that no one had claimed. The hotel manager was happy to get rid of it, and I was thrilled too! What are the chances of that?
And then there are the kind of lucky opportunities that feel more like divine guidance.
I’ll never forget when I received a call from a massage therapist looking to find a therapist to take over her chair massage clients because she was expecting her second child, and changing direction in her life. She found me through another massage therapist whom I had just met. I thought it was just four businesses, which is a lot, but it ended up being a company in Dallas, and three corporate high rises in Las Colinas!
This opportunity with lots of hard work and commitment helped pave the way for Massage Integration to specialize in on-site massage services.
I believe that if you are passionate about your life’s work you will attract the perfect people, partners, and opportunities to help you a long the way. I know in my heart Massage Integration is making a positive impact in the overall health and well-being in our clients’ lives.
Let’s congratulate Lisa. You can view her website below.

A few years ago, Kosha Johnson was homeless, living out of her car and struggling to make ends meet. Today, the massage therapist and aesthetician has a successful business which she is about to take beyond the borders of the Bahamas.
VoKo’s Spa Experience is the name of her mobile luxury spa service, and Ms Johnson has set her sights set on expanding it throughout the Caribbean region, with plans to start in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the near future.
Ms Johnson founded the health-conscious mobile spa company six years ago, after having started out as a concierge agent at a local spa.
She admits that the journey has not been an easy one. While she was pursuing a course as a massage therapist, her house burnt down, leaving her homeless and forcing her to live out of her car for several weeks.
“I pleaded with my teacher at the time and the owner of the school to work with me and allow me to complete my course,” said Ms Johnson.
Having completed her course, she took every opportunity to make a name for herself. The massage therapist said that she received rave reviews for her services from the start. The solid reputation she was slowly building, coupled with increasing client demand and a desire to help persons improve their wellness, led Ms Johnson to launch her own business.
“I was working in a day spa and I had a lot of clients ask me if I did house calls. Due to the demand, I started doing house calls on a part-time basis. It got so busy that I went into it full-time. Ultimately, I couldn’t do all of the services myself so I started to put a team together,” she told Tribune Woman.
The VoKo’s Spa Experience currently has seven therapists in New Providence, though Ms Johnson notes that her aim is to increase that number to at least 10.
She explained that VoKo’s is a full-service mobile spa which caters to the on-the-go needs of its clients.
“We come to you, whether to your residence or your yacht. Wherever you are in the Bahamas, we come to you. We also do spa parties and corporate events,” she said.
VoKo’s Spa Experience has catered to some very large events, including the Commonwealth Youth Games 2017, with 1,400 athletes from all around the world, as well Bahamas Fashion Week 2017 and the Susan G Komen Race 2017.
Ms Johnson said she is now looking to create greater awareness of her company.
“We get a lot of repeat business. We have the best therapists on the island. I’m proud to say that. It’s not just my words, those are the words of our clients and we have a lot of repeat clients because of it.”
The VoKo’s Spa Experience, as she explains it, is being able to cater to the body, mind and soul of the clients, while offering a safe, professional, clean and luxurious experience.
“We create the entire spa atmosphere. We bring everything from equipment, to music, to candles, to ensure that our clients are in a relaxed environment,” she said.
The company also prides itself on using all-natural products, from massage oil to its facial products.
“People always ask me why I do it and I tell them that it is because of the results that I get after the service is done. It makes everything worthwhile,” said Ms Johnson.
“In the next year and a half to two years I hope to take the business to Turks and Caicos, then take it across the Caribbean.”
Congratulations to Kosha at Voka Spa for making Mobile Spa of The Month November-December 2017

Music has an uplifting quality and that’s especially true in a spa setting. While most spas have gentle spa music piped into the treatment rooms, Morgan Rachel Deal, LMT, has taken this idea to a whole new level and has live music playing in the background instead.
She has created a fun niche for herself, providing massages at music festivals in the Pensacola, Florida area.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work backstage at concerts, on tradeshow floors, and even at music festivals,” Morgan said. “I’ve worked several festivals in the area including the Earth Day, Greater Good Art & Music, East Hill Music, and the Mahabhuta Yoga festivals.
“My favorite event is the Mahabhuta Yoga Festival. I’ve done Thai massage every year there so far. There are various yoga classes, meditations, and concerts throughout the three days, and the outdoor view on the water consists of vendors, aerial yoga, kids yoga, and acroyoga classes,” said Morgan.
For these outdoor events, Morgan typically sets up her Thai mat under a canopy tent and then the vendors, guests and performers drop by to visit.
“Outside events are my favorite as long as the weather cooperates. I get to work outside to a great view (usually by the water) while listening to the music of the festival, and everyone watching always wants to know more about Thai massage,” she said.
“I’ve worked a wide range of events over the years,” she continued. “I’ve been invited to work backstage at our local Civic Center for large touring bands. Typically, I am set up in a small room inside the arena. The artists who requested the massage get first dibs, and then I stay set up to work on any crew members around who might want a short session. It’s a blast chatting with the musicians, crew, managers, and staff. The only downside is that the rooms are typically very small, but considering I do Thai massage as well, it’s easy for me to work on the table if needed.”
Morgan has been a Licensed Massage Therapist for almost nine years and has a massage practice outside the music scene as well. “I serve Pensacola and the surrounding areas including Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Pace, Milton, and Perdido Key,” she said.
Morgan has been offering mobile spa services since graduating from Massage school. “I originally began doing out-calls out of necessity, but I have grown to love the change of atmosphere and opportunity in the on-site business,” said Morgan.
“I love being invited into the home of my clients to work on individuals, couples, and entire families,” she said. “I offer both traditional and specialized services like Thai-Yoga Bodywork, Structural Integration, and CranioSacral Therapy.
These days, Morgan is not exclusively mobile and has since added a brick and mortar location. You can also find her at the Breathe Yoga and Wellness Center on 605 East Government Street in downtown Pensacola, Florida.
“As for the future,” continued Morgan, “I have spent the past year and a half studying CranioSacral Therapy and am branching out into the Pediatric specialty. I’m looking forward to expanding to work with more infants and children in the years to come.”

Mobile Spa of the Month for March-April 2017 — Trudy Albert of Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics by Maria Koropecky, esthetician.
Serving the surrounding urban and rural communities of Ottawa-Gatineau, also known as Canada’s Capital Region, Trudy Albert’s Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics or Esthétique Mobile Beauté Éternelle is one of the only mobile spa
businesses in the area that has a fully bilingual (French and English) staff.
“We are based out of Gatineau, Quebec, which is directly across the bridge from Ottawa, Ontario, and this area is very bilingual,” said Trudy Albert.
Ottawa is also known as the coldest capital city in the world, (during winter months), and the often unpredictable weather can present some challenges for a mobile spa company, but Trudy and her team of seven estheticians and three registered massage therapists, persevere.
“Operating a mobile spa during winter months is definitely a challenge, particularly this past winter,” said Trudy. “Weather does get quite extreme, and we do mention when booking between November 15th and April 1st that winter travel is limited, in the case of heavy snow fall or freezing rain.”
“Having said that,” Trudy continues, “We have only ever had to cancel three times in the past eight years of our travels. This is a definite perk for our clients! They get to stay home – warm, cozy, and relaxed – and let us worry about the weather.”
Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics was launched in 2009 in response to a growing demand for in-home, beauty services.
“Having a complete understanding that looking good and feeling good is crucial to our well-being, I wanted to ensure that those with limited mobility were not forgotten,” she said.
“I started the business focusing on serving those who aren’t as mobile as they’d like to be,” said Trudy. “[My clients] really appreciated that I could bring pampering and skin care directly to them, and I get great satisfaction in return.”
Clients have their choice of receiving facials, pedicures, manicures, facial waxing, registered massage therapy, bridal makeup, and hair styling.
“We provide services to help make women’s lives a little easier by providing them with the same high quality beauty treatments and products they would find in any luxury day spa, only in the comfort of their home,” she said. “Our clients love the convenience of having their beauty needs met in their own home, without the hassles of going to and from their appointments.”
Speaking of quality beauty products, Eternal Beauty Mobile Esthetics has its own line of skin care products. “I have been an esthetician for almost 30 years now, and worked with many lines over that time,” said Trudy.
“I was struggling with finding skin care lines that met my standards, philosophy, and [were available] at a reasonable price. I believe high-end skincare should deliver real results, be safe to use, not tested on animals, and be accessible/affordable to everyone. I now work with a couple of laboratories to develop/manufacture our own line of botanical skin care. This was a long time in the making, and I am ecstatic with the results – and clients are loving it too!” she said.
As for plans for the future, Trudy would like to run her mobile spa on a larger scale. “I have built a solid team of trusted professionals with similar passions, and hope to be providing mobile services for many more years,” said Trudy. “I have a real passion for what I do and believe in bringing a feeling of well-being to others.”

Mobile Spa of the Month for November, 2015
By Helen Hodgson
I am very excited to announce this Mobile Spa of the Month and introduce you to a special friend Maria Koropecky of HomeSpunSpa. Maria is multi-talented as you’ll soon find out.
“We specialize in healing body, mind and spirit” said Maria Koropecky, esthetician, wellness coach, and owner of Homespunspa Mobile Spa. “Esthetics and massage for the body, life coaching for the mind, plus energy healing, numerology readings, and spa parties for the spirit!”
The concept of Homespunspa was sprung from a sleep-over in 1999 after Maria invited some friends to a slumber party that turned into a spa party.
“We each created our own home spa treatments for hair, nails, face and body using natural ingredients like avocados, lemons and essential oils and it was so much fun,” said Maria. “That night, my love of spas was awakened and as my head hit the pillow, the word, “Homespunspa” was born.”
“After that, I was on a mission to open a business that would help people plan their own spa parties and a couple of years later in 2001, Homespunspa Enterprises was established,” said Maria. “The mobile spa was added in 2011 after I graduated from the Aveda Institute.”
“I didn’t plan on opening a mobile spa specifically but after I completed my esthetics training, I started working at a spa and somewhere around that time in 2011, the big tsunami washed over Japan. That event really struck me and I decided that I would do a Mani & Pedi Pledge Drive for the Red Cross. My idea was to go to people’s houses on my days off and give my friends their choice of a manicure or pedicure and they could choose how much of a donation to give, if any, for the fundraiser. Well, the job at the spa didn’t last but my mobile spa is still going strong!” said Maria.
“We offer facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, chair massages, chakra balancing massages, energy healings, numerology readings, and wellness coaching on the mobile spa menu,” said Maria.
The Chakra Balancing massage is Homespunspa’s signature treatment. “I’m offering a special energy healing massage where I use specific essential oils and crystal stones along with music, guided visualization, and a relaxing massage to balance the chakras and it’s out of this world!” said Maria.
“We serve Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and we travel anywhere from Sidney to Sooke, BC, and up island,” said Maria. “Thankfully, I have a team of three talented estheticians, nail techs, and massage therapists that I can call on for help with spa parties and we really enjoy working together.”
“But if you still prefer a brick and mortar spa, you can also find me in my treatment room on 1005 Cook Street in Victoria, BC from 8am to 2pm on Wednesdays and Fridays,” she added.
“Hands down, my favorite part of being in business is connecting with my clients. I love our conversations and I love helping people relax and feel better,” said Maria.
“In the future, I’m looking forward to partnering with local high-end B&B’s and offering VIP Spa Days to their guests. A VIP Spa Day is a day of healing and includes massage and coaching,” said Maria. “’I’m also getting ready to publish an ebook on Amazon this year called “Creating Wellness.”

Dynamic duo and married couple, Ed and Kathy Cefalu, opened TrioSpa in 2006 after they decided to quit their corporate jobs and head into the wonderful world of entrepreneurship in the mobile spa arena.
“We came up with the name TrioSpa because we were doing massage, facials and waxing… Kathy was doing facials and waxing and I was doing massage,” said Ed. “Can you believe we started out of a barn house?!”
Soon they added mobile spa services to the spa menu because they already had a strong team of mobile practitioners on hand and that led to more opportunities such as sporting events, trade shows, health fairs, and spa parties.
“We were excited to see how many new people we could meet this way, too,” and there’s “a good amount of ‘crossover’ appeal from OnLocation to InStudio and vice versa,” said Kathy.
These days, with over 40 mobile Massage Therapists and Estheticians on their team, they have since expanded their mobile spa services to include:
• Chair Massage
• Table Massage
• Foot & Hand Massage
• Foot & Hand Reflexology
• Signature Facials & Peels
• Make-up Demos
• Product Demos
• Waxing Party
• Dead Sea Salt Hand Scrubs and
• Intuitive Angel Card Readings.
“By the way, we also provide Canine massage or couples massage (pets and their owners) too!” said Ed.
“We specialize mostly in Swedish/ Deep Tissue/ Sports Massage, working with clients who are dealing with chronic pain,” said Kathy. “We also have a Signature Facial working with all skin types using products specific to the needs of our clients. In addition to general waxing for hair removal, we also provide Brazilian waxing, for which there has become a huge demand.”
Ed and Kathy enjoy working for themselves and maintaining their own schedule. “We take pride in the fact that we know what it takes to get [a business] off the ground and keep it growing over the last eight years or so,” said Kathy.
“The goal is to continue to grow the mobile/onsite aspect of the business by gaining more corporate clients in on-going massage programs as well as expanding to a larger location in San Jose/Santa Clara/South Bay Area,” said Kathy.
Brick and mortar, TrioSpa, is located in San Jose, California; however there’s also an option for mobile spa services throughout the entire North/South Bay area.

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” ― Albert Einstein.
Amanda Deming, owner of Inside Out Mobile Spa, clearly tapped into her insight, intuition, and imagination when she designed her mobile spa business.
“The inspiration to create my own mobile spa came to me a few times,” said Amanda. “I worked at a local spa and most people enjoyed their services but complained about having to drive in traffic, I saw the light bulb!
Later, while Amanda was doing her Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training, she was inspired again. “I was in a deep meditation for three hours. I had a vision of my logo and realized that I wanted to help heal as many people as possible. I created my logo and my website, then hit the ground running,” she said.
Amanda’s Inside Out Mobile Spa is based out of Encino, California. “I travel to all of the following areas and in-between: Agora Hills, Pasadena, Northridge, Santa Monica, downtown and Malibu,” she said.
Now, two and a half years later, “I have an amazing team of massage therapists, pilates teachers, raw food chefs, yoga teachers, doulas, hair stylists, nail techs, hypnotherapists, and reiki healers,” Amanda said.
The mobile spa services include:
Massage (Deep Tissue, Cranio Sacral, Swedish Combo, Pregnancy Massage, Infant Massage, Geriatric Massage, Couples Massage, Corporate Chair Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, Cupping Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Reflexology, Tuning Fork Sound Therapy, Scalp Massage).
Body Treatments (Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Chakra Alignment, Manicures and Pedicures).
Yoga (Kundalini Yoga).
Education (Vegan Raw Food Classes, Essential Oil Classes, Pilates Classes).
“We also offer doula services and throw spa parties,” Amanda said. “Our goal is to be a hub for healing and to help others heal, from the inside out, through body treatments, peace of mind, breath work, and nutrition.”
“My favorite part about being is business is healing, spending time with each client, giving hope back to those who may have lost it, bringing relaxation to someone’s life, and easing pain,” said Amanda.
“For the future of my mobile spa, I’d like to be able to provide healing, education, and nutrition to many different parts of the world. I’d also like to open an Inside Out Mobile Spa in San Diego and San Francisco,” said Amanda.

I was so excited to receive an email a few weeks ago from Diana Davis of The Kneaded Touch Mobile Spa Services in Georgia. ” I’m taking your advice and I’m preparing to be a vendor at a Bridal Show Event. The lady who runs the event said they get about 300-400 brides come through. I’m also using your idea and creating the lavender sachet bag with my business card to give as a gift to the brides who visit my booth” Diana said.
Early on when I started my mobile spa, I was a vendor at at Bridal Show and I’d written a blog outlining the pre-show preparation, what to do to maximize your time at the event and the follow up, so I knew I could help.
Diana was looking for a way to promote her business so she jumped at the chance to be a vendor at a Bridal show. She wanted to attend the bridal show because brides are one of her target markets.
After the event I asked Diana to share her experience and she wrote, ” The response from the brides was great. Everyone loved the idea of mobile spa services, and to my surprise many did not know the option even existed. I had a massage therapist who provided free chair massage to the brides, while myself and another person answered questions and handed out marketing material.
I obtained contact information from 97 brides!”
Diana added; “In my bride/groom information form I was able to obtain wedding dates as well as the services they were interested in. This will allow me to tailor my marketing efforts to their specific needs. In 7-10 days I will also get the lead list from the company that hosted the event. There were approximately 400 brides in attendance.”
Diana also informed me she would recommend Bridal Show events to other mobile spa owners. ” I would absolutely recommend attending a Bridal show. Gaining exposure to that many people in such a short period of time is rare. In Helen’s blog post on Bridal shows she said to determine what your goals are. I decided I wanted to gain at least 60-100 new contacts and I met my expectations. Aside from that, I met vendors in complimentary industries who want to become partners.” said Diana.
Diana’s mobile spa is The Kneaded Touch Mobile Spa Services. and her team of six (massage therapists and nail technicians) have been operating for three years.
Diana was inspired to start her mobile spa as she always thought the idea of spa parties was a great idea. When she started doing research she found my information on starting a mobile spa services business. From there she told me she realized it was possible, and the vision in her mind just grew!
The Kneaded Touch Mobile Spa Services provides Massage, Nail services, and chair massage and Diana’s favorite part of being in business is creating her own schedule, and meeting new people.
In the future she wants to expand and additional spa services such as facials. Diana wants to branch out and serve the metropolitan Atlanta and surrounding areas.
Please congratulate Diana on taking action to get in front of her target market and for reaching 97 brides!
And if you’re interested in finding out how to be successful at Bridal Show Events you’ll enjoy my earlier blog post on Bridal Show Success http://www.howtocreateamobilespabusiness.com/blog/mobile-spa-success-at-bridal-shows
